Introduction
From 2024 onwards, our primary focus will be Project Polymath. Through this project, we aim to develop new skills and become more versatile in our educational pursuits. Our goal is to become well-versed in various subjects, embodying the true essence of a polymath. No topic is too small or too large for us to explore. Every journey begins with a first step, and we are taking that step now.
We prefer to cultivate a broad range of knowledge rather than specialize in one specific area, which allows us to maintain a holistic perspective and engage in deeper thinking. To delve into each subject, we start with an introductory course, then proceed to deepen our understanding, and finally engage in memory training to retain the material.
Content
We will explore a wide range of subjects, from archeology to zoology, to gain knowledge in these fields and apply what we learn to enhance our nation and strengthen the departments of Academia Unixploria. In addition to our academic pursuits, we will incorporate physical training into our comprehensive studies. However, we will begin our journey by mastering the fundamental learning and memory training techniques established by the ancient masters. To gain a proper understanding, we must first unlearn the limitations imposed by our traditional education.
Skills needed
To achieve cognitive breadth similar to that of a polyhistor, we need to develop and train five critical abilities:
- Social: Communicating and discussing what we have learned with others.
- Physical: Using our body to reinforce learning.
- Intellectual: Cultivating a passionate curiosity for all knowledge.
- Creative: Finding creative outlets for learning and documenting the learning process.
- Spiritual: Basing all learning on an expanded understanding of the divine and our relationship with our creator.
Every participant in this project will receive a diploma upon course completion. The project is expected to last five years, and Academia Unixploria will grant a Doctorate to all participants who complete all courses.
Each course has been split into smaller blocks to make the material more manageable. For instance, General History is broken down into Sweden’s history > Ancient times > Stone Age > Paleolithic > Neolithic > Bronze Age > Iron Age, etc.
Subjects to study
Calligraphy
An introductory course in the fine art of writing beautifully using fountain pens and other ink tools. Without writing, there is no learning.
Drawing and Painting
Artistic techniques are crucial for visualizing, understanding, and sharing science, especially in detailing biological specimens. Therefore, a polymath must learn the basics of drawing and painting.
Study Techniques and Mnemotechnics
Annotation techniques and training of one’s memory, such as Ars memoria and other methods to improve learning and memory.
History (Global, Regional, Local, Individual)
Global: World History
Regional: History of a Continent
Local: History of a Country
Individual: Personal History
Natural History
The fascinating realm of green biology involves taxonomy, genetics, botany, zoology, entomology, earth science, including studying mineralogy and rocks.
