Intellectual History

The study of intellectual history focuses on human ideas, particularly in the context of Western thought.

Intellectual history examines how people have sought knowledge, acted, created meaning, and tried to change their existence over the past two thousand years. This course is designed for those interested in gaining a broad understanding of the history of philosophy, the sciences, and social thought from ancient times to the present day. By studying historically significant environments, institutions, and debates about what distinguishes humanity, nature, and society, we can shed light on the past, the present, and questions we take for granted today.

History is a fundamental interest in my everyday life. Similarly, following, analyzing, and tracing thoughts, ideas, and intellectual movements over the millennia is genuinely inspiring. This combination is unbeatable.
